I'm a writer. I grew up in Charleston, South Carolina, and now I live in San Francisco. Girls in Trucks is my first book. It's a little bit autobiographical, but not too much.

I studied writing when I was in college at Brown University and then later got my MFA at Columbia University. In other words, this book will never come close to paying off my school loans. 

It took five years to write Girls in Trucks.

Currently, I'm working on my next book, also roughly set in Charleston, and teaching my new dog that the kitchen table is not a teeth-cleaning apparatus.

It's A Girls In Trucks movie! Sort of.
